SAP Warehouse Management Solution Completed for Euronics’ Üllő Warehouse
Following increased business needs from both store and online sales, Euronics’ owner, Vöröskő Ltd., replaced its previous outsourced warehousing solution with a new, modern warehouse operated in-house. In the tender process, Euronics entrusted Mind System Consulting Ltd. with the design and implementation of its new warehouse management, including related delivery processes and web logistics, alongside the current system operator.
After signing the contract at the beginning of 2019 and a two-month concept development phase, Mind System transitioned the warehouse management in three phases: by mid-June, the inbound processes for goods from suppliers and transfers from the outsourced warehouse began; early July saw the launch of in-store deliveries, and by the end of July, the management of webshop orders was also initiated.
In designing the new system, Mind System not only handled basic warehouse management tasks but also integrated delivery processes and web-based logistics functions. For the inbound goods processes, principles and strategies were introduced for fully automated stock replenishment; individual tasks are automatically and immediately reflected in the warehouse.
For outbound tasks, processes were established for both store replenishments and online customer orders. The former involves mass, pre-planned picking tasks based on allocations, while online orders require continuous and individual picking tasks in warehouse operations. Online orders shipped directly from the warehouse are picked with a two-level commission process: after collecting from the warehouse location, items are matched with the order at the packing point.
The project also integrated closely related transportation processes. For web orders, package labels are now printed directly from the ERP system using parameters defined by the carriers, and shipping data is automatically available to the respective carrier after material issuance. This solution has made the delivery process more efficient and faster, contributing to a reduction in delivery time.
Following the web integration implemented at the end of July 2019 and optimization of physical warehouse processes, Euronics now uses an SAP-supported warehouse management system for the seamless supply of its products. The project concluded in 2020 with a complete inventory of the new warehouse. Zsolt Fazekas, owner and CEO of Euronics, highlighted: “We have successfully implemented WM technology. The flexibility of the implementation team during the initial phase, when numerous change requests emerged, was very helpful,” emphasizing client satisfaction with the entire implementation and rollout process. The new in-house warehouse provides a faster and more flexible solution compared to the previous outsourced warehousing, effectively meeting the continuously changing business needs and creating value for both Euronics’ owners and customers.
